POTASH GLOBAL STRATEGY

Leading change by unlocking the power of the private sector

Our Purpose

We unlock the power of the private sector as a force for good

We drive company-led action
  • We work with leading companies to be a catalyst for change within their business.
  • We help our clients find new solutions to the social responsibility challenges they face.
  • We find alignment between commercial success and ESG objectives that make meaningful change to communities.
We build collective movement for change
  • We enable companies to work collectively for the greater good.
  • We create and nurture the pre-competitive environment for sectors to come together with a shared mission to improve the social impact, or reduce negative externalities, of their businesses.

Our Values

We believe in the power of the private sector in bringing positive social change

  • We believe that commercial success and positive social outcomes should be intertwined and mutually supportive.

  • Successful businesses must be a force for good and an essential partner for governments in tackling social issues.

  • By finding common ground with others, private sector innovation and reach can be at the forefront of positive social change, benefitting all stakeholders and society at large.

Why Potash?

The first ever US patent was issued in 1790 to an entrepreneur, Samuel Hopkins for a process to make Potash. This fertilizer changed the world of agriculture by nurturing strong plant growth and better yields, benefiting businesses, consumers and governments alike. Potash Global Strategy draws on this inspiration.

Unique challenges that we solve:

  • Supporting CEOs to take personal leadership of a responsibility agenda

  • Raising responsibility standards to meet and exceed those of competitors

  • Developing partnerships with a government, a UN Agency, or an NGO.

  • Building internal codes of responsible practice

  • Finding new ways of engaging and training a global workforce in a responsibly agenda

Leading change by unlocking the power of the private sector

What do we do for sectors and coalitions

We provide strategic advice on the key social issues faced by sectors, including how to:

  • Work with competitors and other stakeholders to find common ground and build collective responsibility standards;
  • Build and maintain support for the private sector to be included by governments in social policy.

We act as neutral convener and facilitator to:

  • Generate open dialogue in a safe space with the private sector, regulators, NGOs and civil society (including detractors);
  • Build mutlistakeholder consensus on future industry standards and actions, to contribute to ESG goals.

We drive recognition for industry responsibility standards among key stakeholders

Unique challenges that we solve:

  • Showing regulators that an industry can be an effective partner in setting responsibility standards

  • Convening industry-wide colleagues to find common ground and strategic direction in response to shared challenges

  • Setting up social responsibility organisations, or an industry self-regulatory body.

  • Bringing fresh thinking and new leadership to industry organisations that have lost their way.
